Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you accept insurance?
Indy Psychotherapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, I can provide documentation for you to submit for possible reimbursement.
-
How often will we meet?
New clients begin with at least biweekly sessions for the first 12 weeks. After that, we can talk about whether continuing biweekly or meeting less frequently makes sense for you and the work we're doing.
Clients meeting at least biweekly have a recurring place in my schedule. Less frequent appointments are scheduled based on availability.
-
Do you offer virtual or in person therapy?
Both! Sessions are available in person at the Indianapolis office or virtually for anyone living in Indiana.
Our office address is 7002 Graham Road, Suite 223, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
-
What happens during the consultation?
The complimentary 20-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk briefly about what you're looking for, answer any questions you have, and get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
You don't need to prepare anything. It's simply a conversation before deciding whether you'd like to schedule an Initial Assessment.
-
What happens during the Initial Assessment?
Our first therapy session is 90 minutes, so we have a little more room to get acquainted.
I'll ask questions and begin getting a feel for your "mind map," including how you understand yourself, your experiences, your relationships, and the world around you. We'll also talk about what brings you to therapy and what you hope might be different as a result of our work together.
-
What if I don't know what I want to talk about?
That's okay. You don't need to arrive with an agenda, a perfectly articulated goal, or something profound to discuss. We can start with what's happening in your life and see where the conversation takes us.
-
What is your current availability?
I currently see clients on Wednesdays and Thursdays, primarily during daytime hours, with limited Thursday evening availability.
-
Do you accept professional referrals?
Yes. I welcome referrals from therapists, physicians, attorneys, and other professionals. You’re welcome to share my website with someone you think may be a good fit, or contact me directly with general questions about my practice and current availability.
Prospective clients should schedule their own consultation when they’re ready to connect.
A complimentary 20-minute consultation is a chance to ask questions, tell me a little about what you're looking for, and see if we'd like to work together.
